Home Sweet Home: The Reality of Housing in Bulgaria Revealed
New data from the National Statistical Institute (NSI) sheds light on the housing landscape in Bulgaria, painting a picture of the majority of Bulgarians residing in older homes.
According to the preliminary data of Bulgaria’s National Statistical Institute (NSI), the Industrial Production Index, seasonally adjusted, increased by 0.5% on the month in October 2014.
In October 2014, the working day adjusted Industrial Production Index went up by 0.4% on the year.
In October 2014,the seasonally adjusted Industrial Production Index registered monthly increases in the mining and quarrying industry by 5.8% and in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning by 3.7%, while in manufacturing a decrease by 0.3% on the month was observed.
The most significant decreases in production in manufacturing were registered in the repair and installation of machinery and equipment by 9.8%, in the production of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment by 9.6%, and in the production of machinery and equipment by 4.5%.
The production of other transport equipment increased by 30.6%, the production of chemicals and chemical products added 13.6%, and the production of computer, electronic and optical products went up by 7.4%.
In October 2014, the Industrial Production Index, calculated on the basis of working day adjusted data, increased by 2.3% on the year in manufacturing.
At the same time, the mining and quarrying industry decreased by 8.8% on the year, while the supply of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning fell by 2.7% over the same period.
In manufacturing, the production of motor vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers went up by 36.3% on the year, the production of chemicals and chemical products added 32.4%, the production of tobacco products increased by 23.2%, and the production of rubber and plastic products added 12.1%.
Decreases were registered in the production of beverages by 13.9%, in the production of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment by 6.2%, and in the production of food products by 4.9%.
