Bulgaria: Emergency Medical Teams Will Avoid Roma Districts unless their Safety Is Guaranteed Bulgaria's Health Minister Petar Moskov, photo by BGNES

Bulgaria’s Health Minister Petar Moskov has warned that emergency medical teams will not respond to calls in Roma neighborhoods until their safety is guaranteed.

In a Sunday interview for bTV he claimed that 174 out of a total of 225 attacks against doctors, paramedics, and ambulance drivers had happened in such neighborhoods.

Stressing that he did not draw a line between the crimes committed by people of different ethnicities, he noted that there was a problem which had to be solved.

He called on the leaders of Roma communities to commit to ensuring the safety of emergency medical teams.

“I am under no obligation to guarantee the right of somebody to beat up doctors,” he stated when reminded that he had to provide equal access to medical aid to all Bulgarian citizens, according to reports of dnevnik.bg.

He called on mayors to meet with the leaders of Roma communities to discuss the problem.

Jerry, tell that to the stone throwers, the haters, and then where are the community representatives reporting these trouble makers to the police and the police should act upon these reports.

Simple, send in the cameras to film all violence against medics. No discrimination there...

As for child mortality when a woman is almost constant in child bearing and rearing then its obvious they will have a higher this or that.

Of course everyone wants dignity, respect etc. In all seriousness should we act as servants to those that spit on our cars and stone us while ignoring education, etc. Of course stupid people have a higher infant mortality rate... Therefore not the non Roma's problem is it.

See no Bulgarians, nor Turks, etc, spitting on cars, illegally building, illegally trading, stoning vehicles, etc. No other ethnicity is that obvious in their illegality. No other ethnicity creates slums and all the other negative quite like a Roma.

Give the Roma community the true statistics on child mortality and maternal public health issues and you may find the Roman community seek dignity and quality of life for family and maternity stopping the assault on doctors and public health workers.

Europe is in economic crisis and tax-payers everywhere are hard-pressed to feed their own families. Nonetheless there are governments who just don't get it and continue to waste OUR money on "aid" for the feckless, both at home and abroad. As usual, those who behave like mindless animals are granted "rights" to breed uncontrolled and feed at the expense of those who control their on lives to match their resources. Mother Nature has her own way of controlling such things - let her get on with it and let's save our taxes for those who really deserve them. Why on earth should emergency responders risk life and limb to help those who don't appreciate the services that are provided with other people's taxes?

Its is very sad that many Roma are becoming isolative, the very thing that a certain foreign charity took to a law court and won over. Many also are becoming more violent in their progressive isolative tactic.

Many Roma are observed almost hating themselves and venting such upon neighbours particular non Roma. Of course this action collapses house prices and works very well but should never be. Sad they are given to this choice and set the example to their young whom gain more confidence in such ways thus more violent are the next generation.

Unfortunate many police turn a blind eye stating its gypsy crime and we don't bother with those gypsy criminals. As if somehow this makes up for a horrid past.

Maybe those charities should come back and defend decent people on all sides.
