Greece and Turkey have agreed to boost cooperation in the energy sector by gas transmission network expansion.

Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras and his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu held talks during the third meeting of the Turkey-Greece High Level Cooperation Council in Athens.

According to an official joint statement published after the meeting, as cited by the Bulgarian National Radio, the projects for the Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) and the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), which are connected, are the most cost-efficient route for the delivery of Caspian natural gas to Western Europe after 2020.
