A 2.5-manginude earthquake was registered around 9 pm on Saturday in Sofia, according to reports of the National Institute of Geophysics, Geodesy, and Geography at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.

The epicenter of the earthquake was located between the residential districts of Dragalevtsi and Boyana.

Seismologist Emil Botev, as cited by Darik radio, commented that there was no cause for concern as it had been a micro-earthquake.

He said that the depth of the earthquake had been estimated at 5-10 meters.

Professor Botev went on to assure that earthquakes measuring less than 3 on the Richter scale could not affect infrastructure.
