Bulgaria’s Q3 GDP Grows 1.5%

Bulgaria’s economy expanded by 1.5% year on year in the third quarter of 2014, official figures showed on Wednesday.

Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by 0.4% compared with the second quarter of 2014, according to preliminary seasonally adjusted data.

The National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement GDP totalled BGN 22.8 B (EUR 11.7 B) at current prices in the third quarter of 2014. GDP per capita was BGN 3,161 (EUR 1,616).

In the third quarter of 2014 spending on final consumption formed 69.1% of GDP, while investments contributed 20.7% of GDP.

Imports of goods and services increased by 2.6% year on year in the third quarter of 2014, while exports dropped by 2.8%.
