Bulgaria's main ruling party GERB has not considered an alternative plan in case the Patriotic Front (PF) withdraws its support for the coalition government.

The Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly Dimitar Glavchev, who is from the main ruling party Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (GERB), announced this for the Bulgarian National Television.

GERB will seek broad support among the parliamentary represented parties when dealing with issues important to society, said Glavchev.

According to him, the nature of the four-party parliamentary majority that had been agreed between GERB, the Reformist Bloc (RB), the PF, and the Alternative for Bulgarian Revival (ABV), is more important than the differences between the partners.

Glavchev thinks that the presence of unity in diversity in the new 43rd National Assembly reflects the expectations of society.
In his words the differences, such as that between GERB and the PF, should be overcome in the sake of finding a solution to Bulgaria's major problems.

The PF threatened to withdraw its current support for the coalition government due to the appointments of Orhan Ismailov to the position of Deputy Minister of Defence and that of Veselin Penev as the new District Governor of Sofia.

The appointments were proposed by the Freedom and Dignity People's Party (NPSD), one of the parties constituting the RB, which the Patriots claim to be a pro-Turskish party.

At the same time representatives from the fields of culture and art protested the choice of Slavi Binev (PF) as chairman of the Parliament's permanent Committee on Culture and Media.

In line with this, Glavchev commented that the responsibility for Binev's choice lies with the party that had proposed him - the PF.

Glavchev pointed out that the delay in the formation of parliamentary committees was due to the problems in the opposition, having in mind the divisions in the Bulgarian Socialist Party.

So far the composition of 12 parliamentary committees has been announced, another 10 are to be set up on Friday.
