The annual Atlantic Council Energy and Economic Summit, opening in Istanbul on Thursday, will address the creation of innovative solutions for today’s challenges in the energy sector, the organisers said.

Bulgaria's Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov will speak at the summit's special plenary session "Completing Europe Whole and Free" on Thursday afternoon.

This year's summit, “Doing Business in Turbulent Times,” will discuss the future of energy technologies and energy infrastructure finance.

Energy insecurity, global warming, the need for clean energy, and the emergence of new conflicts and non-state actors such as Islamic State militant group will be on the agenda of the two-day summit.

The annual Atlantic Council Energy and Economic Summit, now in its sixth year, has become the world’s premiere forum for the most insightful political, opinion, and business leaders to debate the pressing issues at the nexus of politics, economics, security, and energy.
