Bulgaria: Georgi Kostov appointed as Deputy Chief Secretary of Interior Veselin Vuchkov, Bulgaria's Interior Minister, photo by BGNES

Georgi Kostov, outgoing director of the Burgas police directorate, has been appointed Deputy Chief Secretary of the Interior Ministry.

Interior Minister Veselin Vuchkov, as cited by the BGNES news agency, said that his choice had fallen on Kostov after a careful selection process, including a conversation with the Chief Secretary of Interior Svetlozar Lazarov.

Vuchkov added that he would like to present all members of the political cabinet of his ministry on Friday.

Georgi Kostov has a 22-year professional experience, having worked at all levels of the career ladder, according to the press office of the Interior Ministry.

He has worked at the 9th regional police department in Sofia, the Sofia District Directorate of the Interior Ministry, the Burgas District Directorate of the Interior, and the Blagoevgrad District Directorate of the Interior.
