The share of shadow economy in Bulgaria's GDP has dropped from 42.2% in 2010 to 32.3% in 2014, shows a survey of the Bulgarian Industrial Capital Association (BICA).

The survey was part of BICA's Limiting and Prevention of Informal Economy project, published on its website.

According to the Association, the decrease was the results of the active explanatory campaign about the negative effects of shadow business practices and the measures for preventing them.

The BICA found that while in 2010 about half of those employed were expressing their willingness to condone such practices, in 2014 their share decreased by a half.

The study noted a stable trend of decreasing of shadow practices both in employment procedures and in financial and tax discipline.
