Code Orange warning for potentially dangerous weather has been issued in seven Bulgarian districts on Wednesday over rains and strong winds.

Heavy downpours are expected in the districts of Lovech, Gabrovo, Veliko Tarnovo, Haskovo, Smolyan, Kardzhali and Blagoevgrad, warned by the Ministry of Environment and Water.

According to forecasts of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology on Wednesday night there will be persistent rainfalls in the western regions of the country and over the Rhodope Mountain.

Code Orange over rain has been issued for Thursday in the districts of Lovech, Gabrovo, Veliko Tarnovo, Haskovo, Smolyan, Kardzhali and Blagoevgrad. In three of them - Gabrovo, Veliko Tarnovo and Kardzhali a Code Yellow over strong winds has been declared too.
