Bulgaria’s northeastern town of Kaspichan is holding a referendum on banning the exploitation of a medical waste incineration facility.
Around 2800 residents of Kaspichan are eligible voters in the local referendum, according to reports of the Bulgarian National Radio.
Polls open at 6 am and close at 7 pm on Sunday.
Locals may cast their ballots at six polling stations.
In order for the referendum results to be valid, at least 1560 people have to vote, as many as the number of voters in the last round of local elections in 2011.
