The EU Solidarity Fund (EUSF) has allocated a total of EUR 10 500 000 to Bulgaria in aid for flood damage.

The sum is part of a package worth EUR 80 M which is distributed among 3 flood-hit countries, including Serbia, Croatia and Bulgaria, according to reports of the Bulgarian National Radio.

Serbia is to receive aid of EUR 60 200 000 from the EUSF, while Croatia is to get around EUR 9 M.

The European Commission made clear that the funding had been earmarked for covering emergency expenses made by the three governments for coping with the flood damage.

The financial aid is to be used to restore critical infrastructure and cover costs for rescue operations and clean-up activities in the flood-hit areas.
