Argir Boyadzhiev has been removed from the post of director and member of the Board of Directors of Port Burgas.

Bulgaria’s caretaker Transport Minister has appointed Ivan Kapitanov as a new member of the Board of Directors of Port Burgas.

Argir Boyadzhiev claimed in a Tuesday interview for the Bulgarian National Radio (BNT) that he had been ousted due to results of the early parliamentary elections held on October 5.

Boyadzhiev suggested that it was the fifth time that he was being removed from office for political reasons.

He informed that he had been notified about his dismissal in a fax of the Transport Ministry sent at 5.30 pm on Monday.

At present, the Board of Directors is chaired by Stoyko Tankov from the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP). Tankov has a Deputy, Dian Dimov, Burgas Municipal Councilor from center-right party GERB (Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria).

Ivan Kapitanov obtained a degree in “Economics and Industrial Management” from the University of National and World Economy (UNWE).

He has long years of experience in public administration.

In the period 2002-2011, he was expert at the Real Sector Finance Directorate of the Finance Ministry, after which he was Deputy CEO of the State Fund Agriculture (SFA).

He was also Deputy Chair of the Centre for Strategic Analyses, Financing and EU Funds.

Boyadzhiev was appointed Executive Director of Port Burgas in end-August 2014 by when caretaker Transport Minister Nikolina Angelkova.

Within a week at the end of August, Port Burgas changed three directors as Nikolay Tishev was removed from office, while Dian Dimov was reappointed Executive Director for around three days, according to the Focus news agency.
