Central Election Commission Prepared for 2-in-1 Elections in Bulgaria
As Bulgaria gears up for early parliamentary elections (6th in the last 3 years), the Central Election Commission (CEC) has announced its readiness for a unique scenario
Bulgarians are voting Sunday in early parliamentary elections.
Polls are open on Election Day from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 pm.
Bulgarians can vote at 11 434 polling stations in Bulgaria and 428 polling stations abroad.
Kamelia Neykova, Spokesperson for Bulgaria’s Central Electoral Commission (CEC), told Darik radio Sunday morning that the Election Day had started normally and that all polling stations had been opened.
Neykova specified that there had been no signals about breaches of election rules so far.
A total of 18 parties and 7 coalitions are competing for MP seats in Bulgaria’s 43rd National Assembly.
According to data of Bulgaria’s Civil Registration and Administrative Services unit, as cited by Sega daily, there are a total of 6 875 199 eligible voters.
A total of 17 000 local observers from 39 NGOs and 69 international observers representing 7 organizations will monitor the elections, according to dnevnik.bg.
Six polling agencies will run exit polls, including Alpha Research, Afis, Gallup International, Sova – 5, Institute for Marketing and Social Research MBMD, Exacta Research Group.
