Police have detained a teenager who took a class of children hostage at his former school in north-eastern Spain. All 25 children, aged between 11 and 12-years-old, have emerged unharmed from the three-hour ordeal at the school in the town of Hospitalet de Llobregat, near Barcelona. The 17-year-old armed assailant had burst into the school earlier on Monday and demanded a million euros ($1m) to release his captives. The siege ended after a policeman disguised as a pizza delivery man entered the building and overpowered the young man. As a car left the schoolyard taking the assailant to a police station, a crowd of onlookers swarmed around, screaming insults at him.
