Russia’s Turpomosch will soon complete the evacuation of Russian tourists stranded in hotels abroad after tour operators Yuzhnii Krest and Solvex-Tour halted operations.

ITAR-TASS reported on Monday that Turpomosch, the association of Russian tour operators for outbound trips, has already brought back home most of the 5,500 customers of Solvex-Tourne and 3,800 clients of Yuzhnii Krest stranded in Bulgaria, Greece, Montenegro, Spain, Italy, Cyprus, China and Tunisia.

According to the Association Director Vyacheslav Basov, Turpomosch has evacuated more than 3,800 customers of Solvex-Tourne, which suspended operations on 8 September, and 2,700 clients of  Yuzhnii Krest which filed for bankruptcy on 10 September.

Most of those Russian tourists still waiting to be brought back home are stranded in Greece, Basov added. Those who had used the services of  Solvex-Tourne, will return by 17 September, while the remaining customers  of Yuzhnii Krest are expected to return in the last 10 days of the month.
