Bulgaria will receive EU aid, covering 6% of the value of flood damages, said caretaker PM for EU funds management Iliana Tsanova for the Darik national radio.

According to her, the application form does not include the damages in the town of Mizia, which was flooded in August, as well as the cost of the most recent flood damages in Berkovitsa and south eastern Bulgaria.

“The application form is for EUR 302 M,” Tsanova said. “The procedure is such, that first we must evaluate the damages and then apply for aid. The sum of EUR 300 M is the entire sum and hopefully we will get around 6% of it from EU's Solidarity fund within the next three months.”

Meanwhile, the Trud daily quotes Berkovitsa mayor Dimitranka Kamenova, who said the preliminary evaluation of damages in the town is between BGN 3 and 4 M.
