The European Commission has invited member states to table projects aimed at improving Europe's transport network, the Commission said in a statement.

This is the biggest sum ever allocated to transport infrastructure.

Member states have a deadline until February 26, 2015 to submit projects.

The funding will be mainly earmarked for the nine basic transport corridors forming the signle market's economic backbone.
