Over 450 polling stations will be open in 56 countries for the early parliamentary elections, Bulgaria's caretaker Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Katya Todorova told the national radio.

There will be more than 11 polling places in London, over 40 in Bursa, 24 in Izmir and more than 40 in Istanbul, Todorova said, adding that this is a forecast and the number depends on the Central Election Commission.

Some 25,000 people have applied for voting abroad.

There will be polling stations in Afghanistan for the Bulgarian military there, Todorova assured.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has requested a permission for setting polling places in several cities in Macedonia, and has received confirmation for the Embassy in Skopje and the Consulate General in Bitola. Bulgarians will be able to cast their votes in Serbia's Belgrade, too.

The estimated expenses will be over BGN 500,000 more than the BGN 1.2M set aside for the elections.
