Bulgaria: EU Payments May Restart In November Photo: Government Press Office

The European Commission expressed its willingness to restart payments on the European programmes as soon as possible, said the press office of Bulgaria's Government in a statement.

This became clear at a meeting of Bulgaria's caretaker deputy PM Iliana Tsanova and  the European Commissioner for Regional Policy Johannes Hahn in Brussels.

After the meeting Tsanova described is as “very encouraging for Bulgaria”.

“We were assured that the EC is acting as fast as possible and we drafted an action plan,” Tsanova said, quoted by the Government press office. “If we fulfill our commitments, it is very likely that payments will be restarted in end October or early November.”
