FlixBus Expands Routes from Bulgaria: New Connections to Thessaloniki, Athens, and More
FlixBus, the renowned European bus company, is set to launch new routes to and from Bulgaria in anticipation of the summer season
Major Saint Petersburg tour operator Solvex-Tourne has suspended activities as of Monday, Russia's Union of Tourism Industry reported, as cited by Russian media outlets.
Some 9,000 clients of the company are abroad now, as most of them are staying in Greece and Bulgaria. About 8,500 clients have paid for their tours in 2013.
The Union of Tourism Industry has assured tourists staying in Bulgaria they will not have any problems, as the company undertook the accommodation expenses.
“The suspended activities will not affect tourists who plan to travel to Bulgaria up to September 26 on Bulgaria Air flights. Those flights are paid for, and accommodation is covered by Solvex Bulgaria,” the Union’s representative Irina Turina said, as quoted by Itar-Tass.
However, Oleg Safonov, acting head of Russia’s tourism authority, has warned that the consequences from Solvex-Tourne suspended operations may affect other companies in the market.
In the summer season 2014, Russia’s tourism sector saw a number of bankruptcies. From July, 16 companies closed operations due to financial problems, including including Neva (July 6), Roza Vetrov Mir (July 25), Expo Tour (July 30), and Labirint.
