Without Russia there cannot be modern architecture of peace and security not only in Europe, but globally, said former Bulgarian president Georgi Parvanov.

“This is my view,” Parvanov, who is the leader of the ABV party told the bTV national channel in an interview.

“I don't defend anyone, but Russia has warned America “not to play” with those people who are cutting off heads because of what America does,” commented Parvanov on the recent ISIS beheadings of American journalists.

Russia was in Afghanistan before the US and the Russians are well familiar with the situation there and in this part of the world as a whole. There cannot be a real fight against those challenges, without close cooperation between the main factors: the US, Russia, EU and NATO,” Parvanov said.

According to Parvanov, Bulgaria must have a clear, but somewhat different stance on the situation in Ukraine.

“We must gain the right to have a more specific attitude towards Russia and the East in general, within the EU framework,” he said. “Moreover – we could have an active role in defining the European policies towards the East. This is what Bulgaria must demand and stand for, not only because of history and tradition, but because our current economic and cultural ties.”

Crimea - 5 Sep 2014 // 03:16:08

Ruska, Russia didn't "annex" Crimea, do some history reading before you make such ignorant statements. For many centuries Crimea was part of Russia, until in 1954, the then Soviet President, an Ukranien, Nikita Khruchev, ILLEGALY transferred Crimea to Ukraine.
After the putch in Kiev, the people of Crimea held a referendum and voted to return to Russia, just like East Germany joined West Germany, like Rumelia (Southern Bulgaria) joined Principality of Bulgaria....

It is sooooooooo pity, that plenty of people in Bulgaria forgot the "wonderful" era of Communism!

It is regretabe, that Russia has not been recently keeping the balance of security in Europa...vice versa...she TANGATED this security by annexing KRUIM and trying to get also DONBAS.

Well said - at last someone with a sensible point of view. EU/US politicians should take note and stop their' silly', yes silly games and attitudes.Russia was never going to allow the EU gang to spread its influence into Ukraine - History should have told them this if nothing else. They appear to know nothing about the attitudes and culture of the countries they intefere in, which has now brought us to the current apalling world situation.

and I would guaranty that the fashizoids will be defeated very badly.

I know this because I originate from a Cristian culture that lived under sharia law for centuries.

Without Russia there will be a land grab on an enormous scale!!!!

There will be radical actions from very large states , moving of borders, destabilization, relocation of people, violence, radical ideas. it will be disaster.
In this unstable environments the rising Islam in Europe will not be controlled by strong states their will be religious violence sectarian division and extermination.
it is the effect of land grab of 15 000 000 km2.
