Weather In Bulgaria On April 22: Sunny Skies And Variable Clouds Across The Country
Tomorrow, Bulgarians can expect a mix of sunshine and clouds as they step out into the springtime air
Prices of wine and rakia (fruit brandy) could increase by 10-15% in winter, reports the national Darik radio.
The reason is the low yield due to the inclement weather in Bulgaria this spring and summer.
Rositsa Kyuchukova, vineyard owner, told Darik that she expects 60% lower yield than last year.
“The yield will be lower and much more expensive”, she said. “The market could not support a much higher wine price, so we will have to sell at production prices. But the prices will increase by no more than 10-15%.”
Krasimir Koev, head of the Wine and Vine Executive Agency, told Money.bg that even though the grape yield will be by at least 50 000 tons less than last year's 250 000 tons, there will be no shortage. “This doesn't mean that we'll have less wine, which will lead to higher prices,” he said.
