Diyan Dimov, head of Port Burgas in the period 2009-2013, has been reappointed through a decision of caretaker Transport Minister Nikolina Angelkova.

Dimov will replace Nikolay Tishev, who was appointed Director of Port Burgas by the socialist-led government of Prime Minister Plamen Oresharski, according to reports of dnevnik.bg.

"I am not afraid of a new challenge, I think that the situation at the port in 2009 was much more serious than it is now," Dimov told the Focus news agency on Tuesday, adding that upon assuming office in 2009 he had found Port Burgas on the verge of bankruptcy.

"We achieved 60% growth in the minimum wage in the period 2010-2013," Dimov added, stressing that one of his first things to do would be to meet with the social partners to get acquainted with the current situation at Port Burgas.

Former ruling party the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) has threatened to organize protests over the mass senior-level reshuffle organized by the caretaker government in order to reappoint people close to center-right party GERB (Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria).
