Bulgaria's caretaker government has initiated a reshuffle at key energy companies.

Georgi Hristozov has been removed from the Board of Directors of the Bulgarian Energy Holding (BEH) and is to be replaced by Anton Pavlov, caretaker Deputy Minister of Energy.

Hristozov remains on the Board of the Directors of Bulgaria's largest coal mining company, Maritsa Iztok Mines.

However, Vasil Samarski leaves the Board of Directors of Maritsa Iztok Mines, to be replaced by Andon Andonov, according to reports of Capital Daily.

Hristozov was appointed member of the BoD of BEH by the previous socialist-led government of Prime Minister Plamen Oresharski. Prior to this appointment, he was Executive Director of state-owned thermal power plant Maritsa Iztok 2.

Samarski is District Chair of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) unit in Stara Zagora.

Prior to his appointment as caretaker Deputy Energy Minister, Anton Pavlov was Chief Power Engineer and head of the "Energy and head of the "Energy Management" unit at Lukoil Bulgaria EOOD. He has been an employee of power distributor CEZ, the National Electric Company (NEK), the State Agency on Energy and Energy Resources and the Energy Committee.
