EU Annual Inflation Slows in March 2024, Bulgaria's Rate at 3.1%
Eurostat's latest report revealed a slowdown in annual inflation across the European Union, with the figure dropping to 2.6% in March 2024 from 2.8% the previous month
The consumer price index in July 2014 compared to June 2014 was 100.4%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.4%, Bulgaria’s Statistical Institute latest data indicates.
The inflation rate since the beginning of the year (July 2014 compared to December 2013) has been-1.0% and the annual inflation in July 2014 compared to July 2013 was - 1.0%. The annual average inflation, measured by CPI, in the last 12 months compared to the previous 12 months was-1.7%.
In July 2014 compared to the previous month the prices of goods and services in the main consumer groups changed for food and non-alcoholic beverages-an increase of 0.4%, alcoholic beverages and tobacco-an increase of 0.1%, clothing and footwear-a decrease of 1.6%, housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels-an increase of 0.8%.
The harmonized index of consumer prices in July 2014 compared to June 2014 was 100.6%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.6%.
The inflation rate since the beginning of the year has been -1.1% and the annual inflation in July 2014 compared to July 2013 was -1.1%. The annual average inflation, measured by HICP, in the last 12 months compared to the previous 12 months was -1.4%.
In terms of HICP, in July 2014 compared to the previous month the prices of goods and services in the main consumer groups changed for food and non-alcoholic beverages-an increase of 0.5%, alcoholic beverages and tobacco-an increase of 0.1%, clothing and footwear-a decrease of 1.4%, housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels-an increase of 0.9%.
The price index of a small basket in July2014 compared to June 2014 was 100.2% and the overall decrease since the beginning of the year has been 99.0%. In July compared to the previous month the prices of goods and services in the small basket for the 20% households with the lowest income changed for food products-an increase of 0.1%, non-food products-a decrease of 0.4%, services-an increase of 1.1%.
