Over 15 000 Russian tourists have been stranded in Greece due to the bankruptcy of Russian tour operator Labirint.

Labirint, a major player on the market, declared bankruptcy on Saturday.

The Greek government is in talks with Russian authorities to find a way out of the predicament, according to reports of the Bulgarian National Radio, based on local media.

The Ministry of Tourism has assured hoteliers in Greece that the expenses for the Russian tourists will be covered with a possible delay of several months.

The largest groups of customers of the bankrupt company are on the islands of Rhodes, Corfu, and Crete.

On Sunday night, hundreds of Russian tourists on the Rhodes Island, who were in the dark up until the last moment about their return flight, were carried home by another airline.

Hotel owners who have bookings for August and September by the bankrupt tour operator have expressed concern about the end of the season, adding that they may be forced to offer last-minute bookings at lower prices.

Greece's Tourism Ministry voiced worries that the financial problems of the Russian tour operators would have a negative impact on tourist arrivals from Russia.

In 2014, the number of Russians who booked holidays in Greece doubled from 2013.

Over 2 million Russian citizens have spent their holidays in Greece so far and as many are expected to do so over the next two months.

.....people are in trouble, they need help. Simple.

"Putler and his Fascist lackeys"---Quel vrai tableau ;-) Bravo, Ma?tre!!!...Poor Seedo-Schizo, he doesn't even realize that he described the "Exceptional" Master and his EUpack........As for Putka, no matter how many steps "further down the evolutionary ladder" he can make ;-)... anyhow he'll never reach the stinking bottom, i.e. the permanent residence of Seedic and his tanned Idol.

What a great idea Optimistic! The Greeks are the most untameable people on the planet. They would rob the Russians blind. Just ask the Cyclops.

The second Russian travel company to collapse in as many weeks. The collapse of the Rouble and the mass cancellation of Russian peasants traveling abroad has drastically weakened the Russian travel industry.

This is only a preview of what we'll be seeing in all Russian spheres of the economy. Putin miscalculated big time and his peasants will now suffer.

Join the Soviet Union? Yeah right - Stalin tried that through his Greek brown-nosed O-AP/Shoo-shite clones between 1946 and '49 but the Greeks weren't stupid enough to fall for it then and they aren't about to now. The EU is bad enough but Putler and his Fascist lackeys are several steps further down the evolutionary ladder.....

Time to send the Black Sea fleet to Greece to help out.

Greece is getting screwed by the right wing scum that run the EU maybe they would like to join the Russian Federation? They could join and leave all their debts behind.

A good example on how perfect legal system of Russia works... Civilized nations have special nation-wide funds to which every holiday business has to contribute and these funds are used in such cases.

How do you get stranded ? ....I thought that the vacation was pre booked and pre-paid, what went wrong. The flights should be the same, something's amiss here, this story has to have a dark side, Greeks up to there usual speculative investment game to improve tourism................ And the ruskkies tourist, are poor to start with, and as traversers they really do not have much to spend, to support the tourist base infrastructure.....Crete especially complains about them not spending money , poor tourist tattooed, with an attitude.
