Counterfeit branded goods, apprehended at Bulgaria's borders in 2013 decreased by 72%, shows a report of the European Commission, quoted by Sega daily.

In 2013 the customs authorities confiscated 562 000 fake brand goods. In 2012, for comparison, were confiscated a little over 2 M fake goods. 

Within the EU, most fake goods were caught at the borders of Italy – more than 4.9 M units.

Least counterfeit goods were confiscated at the borders of Estonia – only 4000. 

The total number of fake goods, caught in the EU was 36 M at an estimated value of EUR 760 M. Largest share of them constitute clothes – 12%, followed by medicines – 10%. 

The main exporter remains China with 66% of all fake goods. Other leader is Turkey – exporting mainly perfumery and cosmetics.
