Interior Minister Yovchev: 'Stop the Hailstorm Nonsense'
Bulgaria's Interior Minister Tsvetlin Yovchev appealed to the public to “stop the speculations and nonsense” around the Tuseday afternoon hailstorm in Sofia, reports Dnes.bg.
He said no early warning system for hailstorms existed in the world and it was impossible to implement. His comment came in response to suggestions in the media and social networks that authorities should have used the air raid sirens to warn the population about the upcoming storm.
“This is a sudden event and is not included in the early warning system,” Yovchev said.
Earlier on Thursday the deputy head of the Fire Safety and Public Protection directorate, Senior Commissar Vasil Vasilev told Nova TV that the early warning system was set up to warn of predictable events. “The hailstorm developed very quickly and it was impossible to predict the scale and impact,” he said.
According to Vasilev, the eventual sounding of the sirens would have created chaos and panic. “People would have rushed outside to save their cars and would have found themselves right in the middle of the hailstorm,” he said.
Realtime radar imagery of the Hailstorm Protection Agency from Tuesday afternoon shows that the hailstorm formed and hit within less than half an hour.

God has punished us!!
God has punished us for loving the Russians!!!!!
and for not installing green photovoltaics worth 30 billion dollars (we have been loaded with only 15 000 000 000 worth of solar panels).
God has punished us for been ungratefully to the EU commission for their efforts to destroy the traces of national economy and social system in Bulgaria.
An for their savage interference on the basic human right of the Bulgarian citizens.
The main right being denied to us is the right to live and grow children in our own country.
We know we are guilty, because we a communists all of us.
So we cant rely on God's mercy.
