Home Sweet Home: The Reality of Housing in Bulgaria Revealed
New data from the National Statistical Institute (NSI) sheds light on the housing landscape in Bulgaria, painting a picture of the majority of Bulgarians residing in older homes.
In May 2014 the turnover in retail trade decreased by 0.1% compared to the previous month, the latest data released by Bulgaria's National Statistical Institute showed.
In May 2014 the working day adjusted turnover in retail trade, except for motor vehicles and motorcycles grew by 1.3% in comparison with the same month of the previous year, according to NSI's preliminary seasonally adjusted data.
In May 2014 compared to the previous month the turnover increased in the retail sale of food, beverages and tobacco and in the retail sale in non-specialized stores by 0.5%, in the retail sale via mail order houses or via Internet by 0.4%, in the dispensing chemist; retail sale of medical and orthopaedic goods, cosmetic and toilet articles’ by 0.3% and in the retail sale of textiles, clothing, footwear and leather goods – by 0.1%.
A decrease was registered in the retail sale of computers, peripheral units and software; telecommunications equipment – 1.3%, in the retail sale of automotive fuel – 1.1% and in the retail sale of audio and video equipment and electrical household appliances – 0.2%.
In May 2014 compared to the same month of 2013 the turnover increased more significantly in the retail sale via mail order or via Internet - by 18.9%, in the retail sale of computers, peripheral units and software; telecommunications equipment by 9.3%, in the dispensing chemist; retail sale of medical and orthopaedic goods, cosmetic and toilet articles by 6.3% and in the retail sale of food, beverages and tobacco by 4.6%.
A drop was registered in the retail sale of automotive fuel-9.6%, in the retail sale of textiles, clothing, footwear and leather goods – 3.6% and in the retail sale in non-specialized stores-3.4%.
