The Foreign Ministers of four countries have agreed on measures which could lead to a bilateral ceasefire in the east and south of Ukraine.

Their meeting came after a ten-day truce ended late on Monday, with both Ukrainian authorities and pro-Russian rebels in Donetsk and Luhansk claiming the other side had violated it many times.

Three-way talks including Donbass activists and officials from governments in Kiev and Moscow are due to be held by July 5, German Foreign Minister Frank Walter Steinmeier was quoted by Der Spiegel as saying.

His Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov says a meeting of the "Contact Group", in which the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) also takes part, could help all sides to "agree on conditions for truce that would satisfy" them.

Recently-appointed Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin called for the peace plan of President Petro Poroshenko to be observed if the situation is to deescalate, the BBC reports.

Talks were initiated by Germany following a new outbreak of violence which began in eastern Ukraine after the latest ceasefire ended.

On Wednesday pro-Russian rebels argued nine people died in the village of Luhanska after a raid of the Ukrainian army, but the information is yet to be verified.

Dear Optimistic,

Don't you wish you were an Oscar Meyer weiner? I would adorn you in ketchuo and mustard and relish and onions and pickles and sauerkraut then ease you gently within the crevice of a Wonder bun and take you in with the many others. In deep end inch by inch declared. Or perhaps you prefer Hebrew Nationals?

Mr. Hot Dog,

You sound like an American and if you are I hope you had a great Independance Day yesterday.

Yes the US is the dominant world power it can attack who it wants militarily or economically but it does not use its power wisely, for example it invaded Iraq to fight terrorists but then there were no terrorists in Iraq. 11 years later Iraq is full of vicious terrorists, what a mess.

I miss the USSR and The Warsaw pact and the red flag with a hammer and sickle, power was more balanced then and things were safer and more predictable.

Forward thinker, you call yourself.

The US EU NATO supported the violent protestors who ousted the legitimate President of the Ukraine.

The US spent millions funding the so called election that put Poroshenko in office and very quickly he has signed the Ukraine over to the EU.

The main killing in the Ukraine is done by forces from the Kiev government and this government and its army is funded through the IMF and the US is the largest supplier of money to the IMF.

Dear FT [Forward Thinker], I'm on the way to Shachti, a Russian city near the Russian-Ukrainian border. Business. But.....thanks for the reaction. It's funny. Let me reply:
(1) Mr.PP (Pedro Porochenko) is "recognised" only because he was appointed as "President" by USA;
(2)"leadership of the rebellion are foreign nationals"---YES, in Slavyansk. NO, in all other cities. And also: USA, Poland, Estonia, Lituania, Germany and other "foreign nationals"participate, on PP side, in the "events";
(3) "funded, manned and armed by Russia"----if You are about "rebellions", then are You, sorry, OK? Being supported by Tsar Putka, those "rebellions" will terminate PP and his pro-American regime within a week.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And Special Thanks, sure, for "He [PP] want freedom for Ukraine". Great. "To drive Russia OUT"?---not bad also.
OUT....together with MILLIONS of those living there, in South-Eastern Ukraine, right, FT? It's about BRAIN and CONSCIENCE, FT. Best.

Sa Sha
Your comment is absurd. Porochenko recognizes that the leadership of the rebellion are foreign nationals....Russian...and are funded, manned and armed by Russia. The purpose is coerce the Ukrainians back under Russian domination. He want freedom for Ukraine and the only way to achieve that is to drive Russia out.

Dear Novinite, the appointed by USA Pederalissimus Poroshenko has no choice, he must expedite the order. The American order, not European "measures": cleansing South-Eastern Ukraine. The genocide won't be stopped. Seven millions people ("pro-Russian rebels-subhumans") who live in Donetsk and Lugansk regions and who hate the neo-nazi "central authorities", they are doomed.
To get the situiation, though a little bit, Novinite, please, offer the attached info to Your esteemed stuff:
