Bulgaria’s ultranationalist Ataka party MPs kept their word to not enter anymore parliamentary sessions and did not turn up to the National Assembly on Wednesday.
Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, party leader Volen Siderov claimed that his MPs will not work within the current national assembly, which will be dissolved on August 6, as they see no point in it.
Center-right opposition GERB MPs have provided the required quorum in order for today's session to begin.
"Ataka discredited themselves,” GERB leader Boyko Borisov said on entering parliament. "Why haven't they boycotted the vote of the Ministry of Interior act or the National Audit Office act, and instead they attended the sessions?" he said.
The deputies voted the resignation of the independent MP Krasimir Stefanov who announced on Tuesday he was leaving parliament.
