Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has brought into Parliament the nomination of Pavlo Klimkin as the country's next Foreign Minister.

The move comes days after Andriy Deshchitsya, who currently holds the office, made an insulting remark targeting Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday.

Deshchitsya joined protesters in front of the Russian embassy in Kiev and performed together with them an obscene song in which Putin was explicitly mentioned.

Klimkin was Ukraine's Ambassador to Germany until last week and is known for his important role in political negotiations of Ukraine with the EU.

Poroshenko has also put forward his nominations for Natonal Bank Governor, a position now assumed by Stepan Kubiv, with the head of state proposing Valeriya Gontareva.

The President has also placed the nomination of First Deputy Prime Minister Vitaliy Yarema to be Ukraine's Chief Prosecutor.

Earlier Poroshenko announced he was expecting of Parliament to dissolve itself, as the decision for early elections had to be taken "by society".
