Grigor Dimitrov opened the grass court season with a win over James Ward at the Aegon Queen's tournament in London.

The Brit was able to keep up with his high-ranked opponent only in the first set, which finished 7:5 for Grigor. Following that, the Bulgarian too control of things and cruised to a 6:3 win in the second.

Dimitrov was cheered on from the stands by his girlfriend and recent French Open champion Maria Sharapova.

In the doubles competition, Dimitrov also started with a win. Together with his partner Stanislas Wawrinka, they defeated brothers Ken and Neal Skupski 6:4, 6:4.
