Over 20 000 people were evacuated from their homes in the past few days due to the flooding, according to reports of local authorities.
The evacuation operations are still underway, the city of Obrenovac being among the worst hit, with 90% of the city territory under water.

The western city of Sabac, which is near the Sava River, expects more rising waters Sunday evening, according to CNN.
Heavy rains are expected Sunday in Sremska Mitrovica and Belgrade.
