Bulgaria: 3.3 Earthquake Felt Near Pernik Photo by BGNES

An earthquake with magnitude 3.3 on the Richter scale was registered on Tuesday morning in Batanovci, 10km west of Pernik and 36km west of Sofia.

The depth of the quake was 12km and the exact hour was 4:54 AM, Bulgaria’s Geophysical Institute revealed.

There are no reports of injuries or damages.

Citizens of Pernik still remain on alert after a 5.8 strong earthquake caused extensive damages in the region in 2012.
