Bulgaria's Minister of Economy and Energy Dragomir Stoinev urged the foreign companies to abide by Bulgarian law.

“Our wish is that the foreign companies in Bulgaria abide by Bulgarian law, respect the Bulgarian institutions and have the same conduct they have in their home countries,” Stoinev said at a meeting of the Bulgarian Industrial Association.

His comment came in reply to the concern of the largest European business organization, BUSINESSEUROPE, with the situation of the electricity distribution companies in Bulgaria.

During a meeting of the organization yesterday, its deputy director general Jerome Chauvin said BUSINESSEUROPE sent a letter to Bulgaria's Prime Minister Plamen Oresharski expressing its concern with the eventual termination of the licenses of the EDCs in Bulgaria.

“We believe that all those disputes must be solved in court, rather than with administrative measures,” Chauvin said in the letter.
