The acting Ukrainian President Oleksandr Turchynov ordered that actions against rebel groups in the east and south of the country be renewed.

His decision was announced short after two men were found dead after being "brutally tortured", in Turchynov's words quoted by the BBC.

Among the men was Volodymyr Rybak, who is part of Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk's party Batkivshchina (Fatherland) and was a councilor for the party in the nearby town of Horlivka.

Rybak was earlier reported missing, and the head of state now suggested he had been abducted by "terrorists".

Turchynov claimed that the last murders had been committed with the support of Russia.

The military operation aimed at ending the takeover of public buildings across eastern and southern Ukraine came to a halt over the Easter celebrations.

Violence however continued despite the Easter truce, as three men died in a shooting near the town of Slaviansk on Sunday. This incident also came days after an agreement which was signed in Geneva on steps to deal with the unrest.

Russia and the US meanwhile have continued attempts to agree on measures to tackle the unrest.

In a phone conversation, the US Secretary of State John Kerry warned his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov that further sanctions might be approved against Moscow if it does not de-escalate tensions.

US officials have repeatedly that alleged Russia is providing assistance to Ukrainian separatists, while the Kremlin says the situation has worsened in the country after Kiev's leadership failed to abide by the Geneva accord agreed last week.

Speaking to Lavrov, Kerry insisted that Russia should pursue diplomatic action in the east and call on rebel groups that have taken over public buildings to withdraw and disarm.

On Tuesday, the US announced further financial assistance to Ukraine, as Vice President Joe Biden said his country would provide USD 50 M more for political and economic reforms.

USD 11 M of them are to be put aside for the upcoming presidential elections.

During his official visit to Kiev, in which he met Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk and President Turchynov, Biden called for a "one united Ukraine" and urged Russia to stop supporting "men hiding behind masks" and "sewing unrest in Eastern Ukraine".

Vladimir K and Optimistic are embarrassing themselves with their repeated comments trying to justify the actions of the Ukrainian 'government' against unarmed and peaceful protestors in Eastern Ukraine. This pair of fascists would be more at home posting their rabid views on a neo-Nazi forum than a Bulgarian news website.

Right wingers seem to be really rude, talking lies, and impersonating along with registering my username. Well, they seem to not have anything to do.

And Vladimir Ilyich, you sir are an idiot. Our views are not supporting these Ukrainian western fascists, but the other way around.

For the last time, the guy who posted stealing my username was not me.

And I have repeteadly explained I am not optimistic, yane or sasha. We're just people with close views, what if we accused every pro western commenterer with insults and claiming all of them is the same person?

Just to add again, that person posted below using my screenname, was not me - it was my "feminine" alter ego. I try hard to resist the temptations but sometime's I just can't control those urges in my mind for a big nigger dick in my ass. That' why when i'm my "macho" self I like to talk bad about the people who I deeply desire inside of me. I'm jealous of those people!

Vladimir Illych please don't to a disservice to that name by posting so much bullshit. I was jacking off thinking of Optimistic when I read your message and it caused great displeasure.

Fuck the Americans, I do hate them personally. After cleaning toilets in France for 7 years I applied for a visa at the American Embassy in Paris and the American scum officer rejected my visa. I had dreams of many years to go live a free life in San Francisco where I wouldn't be discriminated for my sexual preferences - but that American piece of shit bitch rejected me.

Fuck the USA!!!!!

Get your facts straight sahahsa! This guy is an American reporter from Greenwich Village (the most liberal place in North America). He has been an investigative reporter all around the world, challenging for the cause of the weak against the strong in all his many documentaries. If you and your people are so backward that you kidnap members of the press because you don't like the question that was asked (whether the overthrown mayor is being held captive) we might as well just really call that realm the planet of the apes. FREE SIMON!!!!!

Vladimir Ilyich, you clearly have no idea, or sence about what you're talking about. You can claim to be self hating Russian, but we all know, all you talk, is bullshit )))))))))))))) , And btw, western ukrainians are fascists, pretty much every sensible person knows this.

Zionists' plans for Ukraine went wrong! Sadly Soros and other Zionist curs have spent already $5 billion without relevant return. Sorry, cowboys, Ronnie Reagan is dead! America is bankrupt! We know Israel needs fresh money for its wars and the best way to get them is by causing artificial military conflicts around the world. Next time think twice.

Fascist running dogs like Optimistic who blindly support these Ukrainian terrorists led by western puppet Turchynov should be ashamed of themselves.
