Russia's Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev spoke out against the futile "exchange of black lists" with the West on the crisis in Ukraine.

"We will not allow our citizens to become hostage to political games. Of course, we can keep exchanging black lists, but I do not even believe it is necessary now, to prove, from this tribune, that this is an absolute impasse", Medvedev said during an annual address to the lower house of Parliament on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister added that the government would do its best to minimize the losses from EU sanctions, mainly through exploring and enhancing ties with other markets. He assured the industrial sector that it can count on Kremlin's support in these "new economic conditions".
