Representatives of Bulgarian Photovoltaic Association (BPA) were hindered from entering Bulgarian energy watchdog DKEVR's session on Monday.

Members of the BPA said that their commercial interests had been infringed by the State Commission for Energy and Water Regulation (DKEVR) after the latter decided they could not attend the meeting, the website Expert.bg reported.

They described DKEVR's move as showing "lack of transparency" in the watchdog's decision-making. Monday's session was of key importance to Bulgarian economy, as DKEVR had to take a decision whether to suspend the permits of power distributors operating in Bulgaria over alleged million-worth debts to the National Electricity Company (NEK).

The ongoing dispute comes after changes to taxation imposed on green energy producers, which severely affected revenues of the distributors.

More than 90% of solar energy producers have signed contracts with the power distributors, and BAP representatives insist they should be treated as equal players on the market.
