Bulgaria: Bulgaria Ranks Bottom in EU for Internet Access File photo

Almost half of Bulgaria's households have no access to internet, which is the highest rate in the European Union.

There is internet in 54% of households, while the EU average is 79%, Dariknews reports. The highest percentage is in the Netherlands – 95%.

As many as 2.38 million Bulgarians have never used the internet. The figure, however, has dropped from 3 million in 2010.

Despite the low number of households with internet, Bulgarians enjoy one of the fastest connections, as well as number of Wi-Fi zones.
