At 3 am on March 30, Bulgarians moved clocks one hour forward to 4 am, switching to Daylight Savings Time.

Clocks are advanced by one hour in spring and moved back in autumn, to make the most of seasonal daylight.

DST is observed in all of the countries of Europe except Iceland, Belarus, and Russia.

European Summer Time begins (clocks go forward) at 01:00 UTC on the last Sunday in March and it ends (clocks go backward) at 01:00 UTC on the last Sunday in October.

DST was introduced in Bulgaria in 1979 through an ordinance of the Council of Ministers, according to a media statement of the Bulgarian Institute of Metrology.

Bulgaria observes the European Union rules for summer time.

On October 26, 2014 at 4 am local time Bulgarians will move clocks one hour back.
