Candidate to Expo 2030: Rome and its Eternal Evolution
A stroll through the centre of Rome is all it takes to realise how it came to deserve the title of ‘the Eternal City’
The head coach of Ludogorets Razgrad, Stoycho Stoev, was not euphoric despite the huge win his team earned in Rome, beating Lazio 1:0.
"I wouldn't say this is my greatest moment as a coach. I had some quite nice moments in the autumn as well. What I am glad is that we continue playing well. The game was very difficult, but the important thing is we showed courage and character", Stoev said in his post-match interview.
"Let's not forget there is one more match to be played. We can celebrate this win now, but we must be ready for the return leg", the Bulgarian coach added.
Stoev managed to transform Ludogorets into a serious European team after taking over from Ivaylo Petev last summer. In their first ever participation of the Europa League groups, the Bulgarians not only progressed, but were undefeated in their path. And now their run continues with the famous win at Stadio Olimpico.
The second leg between Ludogorets and Lazio will be played in Sofia on Thursday, 27th of February from 8 PM EET.
