Early election results from the Czech Republic suggest the ruling coalition government has narrowly lost its majority in the Senate. The main opposition, the Civic Democratic Party (ODS), won nine of the 26 seats contested in the second round of voting, which ended on Saturday. The other seats went to independent candidates or those from smaller political parties.
