Six people have died during the past 24 hours in Poland due to cold weather that set in.

Since November, a total of 35 people have perished from cold in the Central European country, reports ITAR-TASS, quoting Poland's government security center.

The most frequent victims of the cold are homeless people.

Saturday temperatures in Poland are around -10 degrees centigrate, with lows for the night expected to fall to -16.
