Serbia's Deputy PM Aleksandar Vucic believes that regardless of the disapproval on certain issues among Serbians, the country will fully meet its obligations for joining the EU.

What Vucic mostly likely had in mind with this statement is the normalization of relations with Kosovo, which is seen as unacceptable by many Serbians.

Belgrade has not recognized its former province, since it declared independence, but the two sides have made considerable improvements over the past year.

"I must point to difficult challenges that lie ahead, but I am convinced that we will complete the talks by 2018, and the EU will then have to assess if Serbia deserves to become a full-fledged member", said Vucic at the press conference after the launching of Serbia's EU membership talks.

According to him, a different and better future lies ahead for the country.
