All three attackers were killed.
The victims of the attack, most of them civilians, included 13 foreigners and eight Afghans.
Among the victims were officials of the United Nations, the International Monetary Fund, the EU police mission to Afghanistan, and citizens of Canada, US, UK, and Russia.
The terrorist assault was condemned by the U.N. Security Council, NATO and the European Union.
