The leader of Bulgaria's ultranationalist party Ataka has filed a complaint against Varna policeman Kostadin Kolev in the city's Police Directorate and District Prosecutor's Office.
The nationalist party's press office states that Siderov did not intend to submit complaints, but all lies uttered by Kolev provoked him to take this action.
In his complaint, Siderov writes that "officer Kolev instead of preserving public order, violated it by hitting me in the diaphragm after checking my identity and making sure I am a Member of the Parliament."
"With his actions, officer Kolev committed a crime for which he should be punished according to the Penal Code," says the nationalist.
Siderov demands to have the 10 MPs from Ataka, who were with him at the airport in the Black Sea city of Varna, questioned as witnesses.
The Ataka leader insist on banning Kolev from leaving the territory of Bulgaria, because of "frequent cases of people, including convicts, trying to avoid legal punishment by leaving the country and becoming wanted by Interpol."
Siderov has also filed a second complaint with the Chief Prosecutor's Office, in which insists on measures against leaks in the scandal at Varna Airport after the Prosecutor's report, asking the lawmaker's immunity, was distributed by a number of Bulgarian media on Wednesday.
The nationalist further urges Chief Prosecutor Sotir Tsatsarov to establish who is to blame for this.
Late on Monday, January 6, Siderov verbally assaulted a French cultural attach? during a Sofia-Varna flight and later attacked a passenger and a police officer in a Varna airport shuttle bus. This prompted outrage among majority of Bulgarians and among French diplomats.
As result, Tsatsarov asked that ultranationalist be stripped of his MP immunity. It will, however, depend on the Parliament to vote for it.
The report of the Chief Prosecutor says that a police officer was physically attacked; the access cards of security personnel have been ripped off; ID cards of policemen have been grabbed from their hands: there has been hitting, cursing and insults with qualifications like "drug dealers.
