Macedonia to Start Building Railroad to Bulgaria

Macedonia will launch the building of the first railroad linking it to neighboring Bulgria in early 2014.

The railroad, which will be the most significant infrastructure project for eastern Macedonia, will be started in February and March, announced Macedonian Vice-PM and Finance Minister Zoran Stavreski.

The rail line will for the most part run parallel to the Macedonian stretch of the Pan-European Corridor No. 8.

According to Minister Stavreski, the building of the railroad and the construction of the Skojpe - Stip highway will revive the economy of eastern Macedonia.
