Interior Minister Tsvetlin Yovchev will inspect the implementation of security measures on Bulgaria's border with Turkey amid a sharp increase in refugee flows.

On Friday, he will visit the southern municipality of Elhovo, where a distribution center for initial processing of refugees is located.

Yovchev will also oversee the application of enhanced control measures aimed at preventing the entry of illegal immigrants, according to reports of the Bulgarian National Television (BNT).

For a week, Bulgaria's border with Turkey has been guarded by some extra 1200 police officers.
